Meeting two - Wednesday 28 September

    By admin | September 29, 2005

The club waved goodbye to two of our 'old' hands while welcoming several talented new likely recruits at the second meeting of the speaking year.

Prior to some time off abroad, Katherine performed a typical amazing feat of chairmanship in allowing all 30 in the room a chance to their practice their public speaking - with the 'Debra' (for best topic) awarded to Joseph for his minute-and-a-half on liposuction.

Like the proverbial two buses in a row, following Sally's talk at the previous meeting on Finding a Speech topic, the club had the benefit of an educational slot - this week Michael spoke in the second half on How to Structure a Speech Andrew (ahead of going up to Oxford) then warned us in his level 4 speech of the dangers of reciting tongue twisters while stuck in a lift with strangers….

Finally, Debra (the club founder herself) requested as many club members as possible come and support the WSC team in the district speaking competition at 1:30pm at Russell Hotel, Maidstone.
