• About Wimbledon Speakers Club


    Formed in 1998 Wimbledon has established itself as a leading force both locally and nationally amongst Speakers Clubs.

    Our aim is to help members develop both confidence and skills in a variety of forms of verbal communication and public speaking.

    A typical Programme covers; Improvised Speaking; Prepared Speeches & Evaluation of Speeches. Occasionally there may be other word games, debates or lighter-hearted entertainment included.

    Our meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday each month at the William Morris Rooms (see venue) - 7.30pm start.

    We welcome visitors who just want to drop in and see how they can best benefit.

    Wimbledon's success in competition continues.

    The image [base Our three representatives at the London Area Finals on February 17th each won their respective contest and went on to represent London in the South East District Finals on March 11th in Maidstone.

    Well done to David Langworthy who won the London Area Topics; Katherine Inglis who won the London Area Evaluation contest and especially Michael Ronayne who has now gone on from winning the London Area Speech contest to winning the South Eastern Area contest as well.http://www.tjwmedia.com/WSC/bill-michael.jpg

    This means that following on from Suzanne O'Brien's achievements last year, Wimbledon yet again has a representative in the National Finals.
