• About Wimbledon Speakers Club


    Formed in 1998 Wimbledon has established itself as a leading force both locally and nationally amongst Speakers Clubs.

    Our aim is to help members develop both confidence and skills in a variety of forms of verbal communication and public speaking.

    A typical Programme covers; Improvised Speaking; Prepared Speeches & Evaluation of Speeches. Occasionally there may be other word games, debates or lighter-hearted entertainment included.

    Our meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday each month at the William Morris Rooms (see venue) - 7.30pm start.

    We welcome visitors who just want to drop in and see how they can best benefit.

    Katherine reclaims her crown

    Wednesday 12th December saw the Wimbledon Speakers annual speech contest.
    8 strongly individual speeches on the given subject ‘Nature’ saw Katherine Inglis come through as a worthy victor.
    We greatly appreciated the wise and perceptive feed-back from the guest judges, Gerard Casale (pictured with Katherine) and Margot Elder.
