• About Wimbledon Speakers Club


    Formed in 1998 Wimbledon has established itself as a leading force both locally and nationally amongst Speakers Clubs.

    Our aim is to help members develop both confidence and skills in a variety of forms of verbal communication and public speaking.

    A typical Programme covers; Improvised Speaking; Prepared Speeches & Evaluation of Speeches. Occasionally there may be other word games, debates or lighter-hearted entertainment included.

    Our meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday each month at the William Morris Rooms (see venue) - 7.30pm start.

    We welcome visitors who just want to drop in and see how they can best benefit.

    July Meetings

    Breaking with tradition (slightly) we will be having 2 meetings in July, 9 and 23 to maximise speaking opportunities for all our new speakers. After a break in August, the next meeting will be September 10.

    Wimbledon 2008 Dinner

    The Annual Dinner will be held on June 27th at the Antoinnette Hotel, Wimbledon.
    Guest speakers will be Suzanne OBrien and Sean Birch and a great turnout is expected. This is the premier networking event and celebration in the South East and is always eagerly anticipated. See you there!
