• About Wimbledon Speakers Club


    Formed in 1998 Wimbledon has established itself as a leading force both locally and nationally amongst Speakers Clubs.

    Our aim is to help members develop both confidence and skills in a variety of forms of verbal communication and public speaking.

    A typical Programme covers; Improvised Speaking; Prepared Speeches & Evaluation of Speeches. Occasionally there may be other word games, debates or lighter-hearted entertainment included.

    Our meetings are held on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday each month at the William Morris Rooms (see venue) - 7.30pm start.

    We welcome visitors who just want to drop in and see how they can best benefit.

    Come along, be heard

    There’s been so much activity in the first two meeting of the speaking year to date - and there’s much more to come.
    The consensus is that the club is going really well; 26 people attended meeting of 8 October - and it’s particularly gratifying to see such improvement in speaking skills.
    October and November promise to be strong months with demand for speech slots and other jobs in demand. So contact Nigel to a reserve a starring (or equally valued backroom) role.
